Toro Negro


Located in Orocovis, this state forest extends through the municipalities of Ponce, Juana Díaz, Jayuya, and Ciales. Dressed in their best green attire and bathed in the cool waters, Toro Negro offers you unparalleled multi-family adventure.

Guided by the paths, you will enter extensive vegetation consisting of more than 160 species of trees. It is habitat to more than 30 species of birds and an ideal scenario for Bird Watching.

Continuing our journey, we pass colorful streams with beautiful waterfalls and we reach a large pool that uses natural river water, perfect to plunge in and refresh ourselves from the summer heat. In the vicinity there are several gazebos with barbeques to relax and unwind from the walk.

If you are someone who likes hiking these same paths, with a distance of 11 miles, they will take you to the top of one of its high mountains where the observation tower is located.

Over the tower one can admire the beautiful panorama of the south coast of Puerto Rico and Lakes Toa Vaca and Guayabal. Toro Negro also has a designated camping area with restroom, offering you the essentials for a total adventure for the whole family.
